Middle Age. The valley that surrounds it is as the anciant
houses and castles you can see facing it. |

impossible not to mention the “food and wine itineraries”
that merge taste with culture. From Assisi to Spoleto where the
sun kisses the land, the best oil in the world is made from olive
trees growing on high slope terrains: extra vergine olive oil from
umbria, a wonderful taste that enhance our simple recepies of our

and Spello are filled by olive trees and they definitely
deserve a detour. |

hills surrounding Montefalco and Bevagna, are the famous
places where wonderful wines such as Sagrantino di Montefalco
are made thanks to a land rich in vines and typical wineries.

suggest you to plan a a trip to the the Grotte di
Frasassi, 15 kilometers of caves. 70 kilometers
from here, in the small town of of Genga close to Ancona
and by the Appenninian mountain chain, the mountain cracks
into a canyon, which is the Gola di Frasassi; 3 kilometers
of vertical walls. It’s in this canyon that a group
of speleologists found the Grotta Grande del Vento, a nature
wonder that takes the breath away. |

Along
the road Valnerina toward Terni, after 40 Km. You’ll
be reaching the Cascata delle Marmore,
the highest waterfall in Europe, a must see for everyone
coming to Umbria.

It’s
one of the most fascinating nature shows: an enormous
mass of foaming water that falls down in the narrow valley
del Nera, with 3 other falls of 165 meter.

Close
to the waterfall, only 4 kilometers away going toward Norcia,
there is the ancient Abbey of S. Eutizio,
which used to be the the center of all activities in the
valley.At a first sight, it looks like it’s part of
the mountain where it stands not only for the steeple that
is biuilt almost in the mountain but also for the important
relationship between the landscape and this religious place. |

Still
going toward Norcia, by Campi, there is the church
of S. Salvatore, one of the most significant example
of architecture of the whole surrounding. This church is
located by the main road and it has a remarkable simmetrical
facade with the two extremely refined portals. |

Campi
Castle or Campi Vecchio, located on the left side
of the valley, definitely deserves a trip to appreciate
the refurbishment process the whole village went through.It
a good example of the estreme care we took in remodeling
every little village after the earthquake to preserve and
enrich what is actually our bigges artistic heritage. |

Norcia
(18 km.. from Preci) is located at.604 mts abouve mean sea
level and it’s built in the most pitoresque part of
Umbria and it has its roots in a roman and medieval past
starting from the huge brick walls around the town.. it’s
famous for “norcineria”, a treatment the meat
goes through for extra quality taste. You can buy some high
quality products such as certified prosciutto Igp, black
truffle, lentils, salami and different kinds of cheese.
Over the last weekend of February, there is an exibition
and the marketplance of the black truffle and the other
typical products from Valnerina. |

Cascia
is 35 kilometers from Preci. The village is famous thanks
to Santa Rita and pilgrims come from all over the world
during the year, but especially in May when Santa Rita is
celebrated (May 22). |

Visso,
15 kilometers from Preci where Marche and Umbria board,
hosts the National Park of Sibillini Mounts. Its past is
rich in history: the enormous walls around the town, the
medieval balconies, the houses, the towers, the palaces
from the reinassance, the brick portals with latin mottos
and family signs are all part of this wonderful village
that almost seems as a timeless painting. |
